Here are some useful expressions when talking about movies:
A MOVIE BUFF is a movie fan who usually spends a lot of time enjoying and learning about movies.
"My best friend is a big Movie buff
A TURKEY, is a term sometimes used when discussing a really BAD MOVIE.
"That movie was terrible! It was a huge turkey!"

If a Movie is terrible, you can also say that it ¨SUCKS¨ (or SUCKED).

"That Adam Sandler comedy sucked!"
A BOMB is a movie that didn´t do great business at the Movie Theater.
¨Doolittle¨ was a Box office Bomb because it sucked.¨
The BOX OFFICE is not only the place at the Movie Theater where you can buy tickets, but also the amount of TICKET SALES/MONEY a movie made.

 "Avengers: Endgame is the Box office champion."
A BLOCKBUSTER is usually a big-budget, commercial Hollywood studio, designed and marketed to make a lot of money.

"Steven Spielberg´s ¨JAWS¨ is considered the first Blockbuster movie in History."
A "Chick" is a slang term for "Girl". A "Flick" is a slang term for movie. So, a "Chick-Flick" is a movie that ´girls´would enjoy. These are usually romantic dramas or comedies.

"The Notebook" is a very popular chick-flicks."
If a movie is very exciting and full of surprises, it will have you AT THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT, or will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF. 

         --That "Chick-Flick" was a huge box office bomb because it sucked! Let´s watch the new ¨James Bond¨ movie instead.
--I already watched it. It was incredible. It will knock your socks off!
--Really?
--Yes! I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie!
